The announcement text: Large local Authority situated in South-East London is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to support a Head of Division and his executive team. You will be working to tight deadlines providing a comprehensive senior administrative service. This role is based on a six month temporary contract. Successful candidates must be available to start Monday 18th July and also be prepared to interview this week. Previous PA experience working within either central or local Government is preferred. Please ensure that you can commute easily to SE area of London.

To provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the Head of Directorate and senior members of Executive team.
To ensure that briefings are available for all events and that the efficient use of time is maximized.
Develop and maintain effective and appropriate office systems to ensure the efficient organisation of the Executive office.
Deal with all enquires in a confidential and sensitive manner.
Convene and make the necessary arrangements for all meetings as required.
Travel arrangements, venue bookings, refreshments and equipment
Service meetings as and when required, prepare and dispatch papers.
Producing a record of decisions and ensuring appropriate follow up action.
Service meetings as and when required, taking detailed and comprehensive minutes.
Manage all enquires, mail, e-mail and telephone.
Drafting correspondence, reports, speeches, briefing, research and policy papers.
Communicate effectively and tactfully with all Members, Executive Management Team members, Officers, Partners and community sector workers.


Person specification:
Successful candidates must have previous experience working within the Public Sector.
Experience of managing heavy workload and prioritising conflicting tasks.
Must have previous experience working at senior management level
Will be confident using all MS Office Packages
Fast and accurate typing speed minimum of 60wpm.
Speed writing or minute taking abilities
Must have advance literacy skills, to deal with correspondence, writing high quality reports and briefing notes.
Calm and professional personal presentation.
